A FINE YARN is the culmination of a long held dream for me. I've been knitting for more years than I like to think about, in fact, I can't remember NOT knitting! It started when I was about 4 years old, watching my Mum and Grandmother busy with their needles and yarn.

In those early days, they used very fine wools, making beautiful Fairisle patterned sets for family, friends and little me. I remember some lovely 2 ply beret and scarf sets which must have taken hours to knit, but with no telly, nights were long. In those days, knitting was a necessity, now we can knit for pleasure and I am more than willing to share my passion for yarn and the craft with anyone.

I spent several years as a Consultant for Coats Crafts and Rowan, always wishing that I had my own wool shop. Redundancy gave me the opportunity, I grabbed it with both hands and with the never ending support of my husband and family, here we are today.

I am always on hand to offer advice if needed, don't be afraid to ask.
